Day 1 – Vancouver Arrival

Welcome to the beautiful metropolitan city of Vancouver. Situated on the Pacific coast, this city offers up fantastic views, entertainment, and culture. Visit FlyOver Canada for an introduction to the scenic and geographical highlights of Canada during a breathtaking flight simulation.

Day 2 – Vancouver to Sun Peaks

Depart Vancouver and witness city-scapes transition to pastoral farmland and lush valleys as the highway follows the Fraser River. Continue north toward Hell’s Gate and the spectacular Fraser Canyon. Lunch and a tram ride at Hell’s Gate offers a chance to witness the power of water as it churns and pushes through the narrow Hell’s Gate Gorge. Wind along the Thompson River through the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia’s cowboy country. The road climbs steadily up through the Shuswap Highlands toward the alpine town of Sun Peaks. Enjoy a peaceful evening in this mountain oasis surrounded by peaks and forests.

Day 3 – Sun Peaks to Lake Louise

Continue east as the views change from wide open skies to towering rugged peaks. Stop for lunch in Revelstoke before continuing through the untouched wilderness of Roger’s Pass. Enter Banff National Park, situated in the heart of the Rockies. Gaze up at the impressive Mount Temple, at 3,544 meters elevation. Stand on the shores of Lake Louise and behold the famous emerald green waters backed by majestic Mount Victoria. Spend a leisurely evening in Lake Louise.

DAY 4 – Lake Louise to Jasper

An epic day of sights and photo opportunities begins with the spectacular Icefields Parkway. Travel through mountain corridors surrounded by rocky peaks, sparkling streams, and hanging glaciers. Step out onto the Athabasca Glacier and enjoy an interpretive journey in an all-terrain Ice Explorer. Gaze out over the Sunwapta Valley from a glass platform suspended high above the valley floor at the Glacier Skywalk. Continue along the Icefields Parkway with a final photo stop at Athabasca Falls. Arrive in the resort town of Jasper for an evening at leisure. This mountain town is full of character and colourful local mountaineers and skiers.

DAY 5 – Explore Jasper

Get acquainted with the rich history and scenic highlights of Jasper National Park. Behold the power of water at Maligne Canyon. Photograph the mighty Athabasca River while learning of the trials and triumphs of early explorers who settled in the area. Learn the mystery behind the disappearing Medicine Lake. Look out over the vast waters of Maligne Lake. The afternoon and evening are free for further exploration of this mountain paradise.

DAY 6 – Jasper to Banff

Enjoy a morning at leisure before travelling south along the Icefield Parkway to Banff. This famous resort town offers a great variety of walking and hiking trails, and wildlife viewing opportunities. Check out the many art galleries and shops downtown, or spend your time in the accessible wilderness just a short walk away from your hotel doorstep.

DAY 7 – Explore Banff

Experience the highlights of Banff with a tour visiting many local points of significance. Visit scenic highlights including Bow Falls, Two Jack Lake, and Surprise Corner. Learn about the significance of the Hoodoo rock formations overlooking the Bow Valley. At Banff Gondola, ascend to the peak of Sulphur Mountain for a bird’s eye view of the surrounding peaks and Banff townsite far below. Enjoy an interpretive boat cruise at Lake Minnewanka with wildlife often spotted at the water’s edge. Spend a leisurely night in Banff.

DAY 8 – Banff to Calgary

This memorable holiday concludes with a transfer through the foothills and ranching country of Alberta to the city of Calgary.
